As the executive chairman of Asian Hardware (Pte) Ltd, Dr. M. H. A. Razzak is based in Colombo, working closely with the team in the corporate strategy, governance and Investments of the company.
Holding honorary doctorate as the special recognition among professionals in Sri lanka.
Honored with the exceptional title as “Deshamanya Deshashakthi” for his noble tasks rendered towards people and society.

More than four decades of continuous business operation certainly is an indicator of willingness to take a long-term term view. To embark on a journey of success, one needs the tools of preparedness, foresight, and strategy. At Asian Hardware (Pte) Ltd, these tools have been our chosen means for change and progress. They have led to the path of growth and success in the past 40 years, creating a multi – dimensional conglomerate with a portfolio of complementary business.
In 1974, I initiated my first venture at 3rd Cross Street, Colombo, under the supervision of my father, working along with him to learn the entrepreneurship. However, experiencing regression due to economic crisis during the said period which led to, entry in the hardware field, as Rihana Hardware and soon after, in 1975 Asian Hardware, with sole discretion at 3rd Cross Street, Colombo and progressively moving to the heart of commercial, Messenger Street, Colombo.
The key to our success has been our ability to seize the existing and emerging market opportunities, thereby building value for our business in local communities. We endeavor to be one of the pioneer business houses with emphasis on efficiency in operations, reliability for customers, and thrust on development.
Gearing up for the future, we have the key success factors necessary to withstand the winds of change and are poised to make a paradigm shift in our growth. Our well – recognized market presence with a strong product portfolio is being marked up with newer brands and businesses.

We are moving towards a strategic future for Asian Hardware (Pte) Ltd, with a new direction, ensuring long – term sustainable and progressive development. Further, strategic focus on the development and commercialisation of differentiated product portfolio is making progress, where some technical innovations are being trialled and adopted. Laying the foundation to make the firm more resilient and better able to capture the opportunities ahead.
Our strategy is more focussed towards creating new opportunities, gradually introducing modern retail formats, including e – commerce platforms convenient to our customers. We are gradually increasing the product portfolio required for commercial and residential Construction/ Renovations, making it a more convenient shopping experience for our customers.
